Historical Photography

– Old Fort Niagara –
All photos: L A Promotional Design & Photography

I spent one season as a Tour Guide at Fort Niagara.  It was fun, I met a lot of great people, and learned all the interesting things I never paid attention to in History classes!

The best part of the day was arriving early before the crowds, walking over the draw bridge and through the south Redoubt onto the old battle field.  I swear the sun shines in that corner of Youngstown every day without fail.
I would stand for a while, alone, overwhelmed by the peaceful silence, the warmth, and sparkling Lake Ontario on both sides of the French castle.  Back to reality when I thought of how loud and bloody it actually was 300 years ago, and the number of American, British, French and Iroquois lives that were lost in and around the area of the Fort, while fighting their "gentlemen's war"!

In recent days, there have been some great events held there, one of my favorites being "The Haunting" in the month of October.  Very dark, lots of scary stories, and I have actually seen photos taken by other Guides that contain unexplained ghoslty images... really!

Product Shots / Packaging

– Not Pretty, Just Useful –
All photos and graphics: L A Promotional Design & Photography

Box sleeve, packaging design for store shelves:  it is my job to make my clients exude professionalism!

High quality product shots.

They aren't exactly pretty, I wouldn't frame them for my wall, but they are really well done and a vital tool for brisk sales!
It's most important to have the proper lighting, depth of field and perspective... I am an expert in all areas.
(Yes, I am patting myself on the back)

The Roving Photographer

– Toshiba Meeting / Dinner Party –
All photographs: L A Promotional Design & Photography

I have been given a number of great opportunities to refine my art of stealthy photography, discreetly roaming
through crowds of executives or party-ers to get the best shots.
How impressive to have hired your very own professional photographer for major functions!
It not only preserves the memories, but is also a thoughtful way to thank your participants.

A View From "City" Hall...

– My Big Town –

Can a city accurately be called a CITY if it's population is under 300,000?  I am pretty sure I know every person that lives here,
and in WNY the "One Degree of Separation Theory" applies to all residents.

Buffalo is the "Land of All Festivals".  Every Fest known to man exists here, most that belong exclusively to us and new ones that
are invented here on a weekly basis, then crammed into our 3.2 months of warm weather.
From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, you DO NOT, under any circumstances, vacate the area!

Nature Photography and Preservation

– Towering, Spiraling, Mandatory Trees –
All photographs: L A Promotional Design & Photography

It doesn't look like much now, but it will be full of life again in the Spring.

It doesn't look like much now, but it was a protective home to many animals in it's time!

Trees are amazing things.  The two in these photos are in an ever-decreasing, rare wooded area in suburban Buffalo, NY.
As little green space as we have remaining, the needless, senseless, conscious-less ground clearing and building continues.

According to the Arbor Day Foundation planting trees helps to fight Global Warming.
('Planetary Destabilization' seems to be the more accurate description, at this point.)

"As trees grow, they help stop global warming by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.  While fighting global warming, trees provide many benefits to all of us, every day. They provide cooling shade, block cold winter winds, attract birds and wildlife, purify our air, prevent soil erosion, clean our water, and add grace and beauty to our homes and communities."

Learn more about Global Warming from the experts.  Then plant a tree and help to reduce your  carbon footprint!

Environment & Animal Rights

– Save the Planet by Saving Its Animals –
by: L A Promotional Design & Photography

This illustration was designed for my Hybrid Civic, and also made a great t-shirt!

Logo design of perfect harmony (along with a stern warning) for my various projects, including the t-shirt below:

If only I could arm the world's animals, so they could preserve themselves!
(OK, maybe a harpoon is not terribly harmonious, but "desperate times"... etc...)

At 9am every freeezing Thanksgiving morning since 1896, over 13,000 hearty runners, walkers, singles and families
take to the streets of downtown Buffalo for the legendary 8k Turkey Trot.  It is the oldest continually
running footrace in North America, a major spectacle and one of our most loved events!
