I was honored that my son asked me to create their wedding invitation. 

With a verse from Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" as a theme, I also created 2 metal prints using photos I took in Hawai'i.

During a white-out blizzard on February 13th, I drove 3 hours from Lockport to Lackawanna to the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, navigating dangerous (adventurous?!) conditions with the help of my friend, Amy, and the magical old 4WD Envoy.

No flash, no tripod, just focused, held my breath and shot.

I have photos from 6 years ago ~ February 12, 2013 of "Night Lights" at the Botanical Gardens!

It's been a very long time since I last posted here, so now I need to catch up.
The past 5 years has been an incredible adventure on Hawai'i Island where I've been very busy with photo sessions, design work and taking care of marine life. 
But I have made the long voyage home, and am finally settled back in Buffalo, NY!

I have been designing CDs for Fleur de Son Classics for many years. 
Here are just a images from the vast collection!

A lot of hours went into 'Pizza Man', definitely one of the more interesting designs I've created. 

Chris Jentsch has been a repeat client, one of the most creative and talented musicians I've  had the pleasure to work with. You can see different types of projects I've done for him elsewhere on my blog, but here is the design for a CD and DVD set.

I made these photos into 48" x 36" for an office wall in WNY. Guaranteed to help make it through the long, cold winter!

This beach is in front of one of the resorts, so it had quite a few people on it. I got rid of them!

Taken in the early morning, objects cast a long shadow makai.
The hammock is so inviting!

Flowing Photography #2

– An Incredible Journey ~ Part 2 –

As promised, the journey continues...

I can see the plume, it is so exciting!

This time I rode my bike and made it to where the road was covered by the flow. The trip was much quicker, but still not easy on the gravel road, in the pouring rain and wind!

Getting to the ledge was a bit of a hike over crazy lava terrain and large obstacles. When the top layer of lava gets crushed, it's like shards of glass. I did end up with slivers of Pele in my hands! 

The lava is absolutely breathtaking, and completely worth the effort. Luckily the wind was blowing in the opposite direction, because the interaction of lava with the ocean creates an acidic plume laden with fine volcanic particles which is hazardous to your health.

Here I am in my sharp, pointy lounge chair! I could have stayed there all day, but at some point I realized I was past the HUGE crack in the ledge. I am told eventually that chunk will fall into the ocean, but happily it hadn't yet.

As of September 19, the flow is approximately 6 miles wide and has been entering the ocean for a couple months. There is no way to know how long this will last.
