Another invitation to photograph Daylight Mind Coffee Co "during an event" put me right in the middle of an extravagant wedding, which I was not at all expecting!  This project was to capture only the mood and lighting of the venue, 
to use as "Celebrate Your Event With Us" advertising.

After the shock wore off, things got worse. It was way too dark and I was having trouble with my flash.  

I ended up having to weave a tripod through this mass of dancing, drinking people without being obvious, then about 10 minutes in my lens filter cracked but I didn't notice for at least a half hour! 

I am very happy with the blurred images, as the attendees are not meant to be the focus of the photo… no pun intended.

My job was to take photos at sunrise and sunset of this perfectly situated, beautiful two-story restaurant during the IronMan World Championship – a triathlon of over 2,000 athletes that is centered in Kailua-Kona.  It covers 140.6 miles of swimming at the pier, biking all the way up through Hawi, and running the streets of steamy Kona.  Yes, it is crazy ~ I was exhausted from watching.

The lighted decks at 6am from Ali'i drive.  Things start early and go late on this day!

Watching the helicopter whip around so close to the water was half the fun!

The enthusiastic crowd on these decks had a perfect view of the swimming action!

A sun shower added to the beauty of the evening, so I covered my camera and kept going.
